Those bloody interfering mercenaries again!

I can't move! this can't be happening! What power can bind me like this? I'm sure that they didn't have Priests in their group. NO, I won't be overcome now. Not now! No one can stop me, no one!

What was that? Could there be someone behind us? Stan thought he had heard something earlier, but no one could have been that close to us without me knowing, could they? Anyway I can see them, still standing about at the corner, too cowardly to come forward and face the mighty power of my mind. This will wear off soon, and then we'll be able to approach within range. Hah, that will show them! Or perhaps the sword again? It was most effective against them last time. Too bad the militia arrived when they did, we could have been rid of these stupid interfering flops with their flapping robes and charcoaled chicken. Mmm, I can't see the dark one. Where is he? Off starting a fire, no doubt. Perhaps I'll contact him and just check ... no ... no, better wait and see what happens here.

The attack tonight went so well. It was so easy to find where those mercenaries were "guarding". Ha! And avoid them. Don't they realise that they are so obvious, so pathetic. Those two pitiful guards at the Nelli house were no trouble. Just a slight re-positioning of the initiation point and they were right in the Death Field with the pubescent mage. Only three others to go and my work will be completed. I think next time I will need to use the invisibility. That will help with getting out of the area without this type of interruption. This time I will make sure we finish off these meddlesome trouble-makers once and for all. It was a shame to loose my house to the fire. But the warehouse serves just as well. Too late for that now though. Are they coming closer? ... No, cowards.

How did they find me? How did my plan become common knowledge so soon? It was perfect. No trace to tie me to anything. I should have got these last ones earlier, before the mages had them on their evil books. That would have been better, much better. Yes, perhaps I'll let these last three slip by and focus on the very young. There shouldn't be too many left now. No, not after the last scrying. Yes. That's what I'll do, yes.

Soon the City will be rid of the fresh blood, an aging population of mages, with no new blood to sustain and invigorate. Then we will be safe, and THEY will be avenged. Killed by mages, wicked, evil. I hate them all. MOTHER, not long now...

Footsteps ...running footsteps ...quick the Field, ready, ready .. aggghh. Damn, failed ... quick again, ready, ready .. aggghhhh!

What's that? My god, not him! No ... he was here all along! The axe! No, not the axe! Why isn't he dead? How could he stand my mighty Death Field? No one can stand it! NO ONE ... I CAN'T BE STOPPED ...!
