Report

Left Specularum bound for Jorn Isles aboard the good ship Shibboleth under Captain Horace Trondheim. With my party under the employ of the Specularum Militia. We have a contact in Jorn City.

We encountered our psi "companion" Warren Kinean at the last breakwater of Specularum harbour. It seemed clear that he wished to use his aggressive Death Field ability on the ship. Probably to get revenge upon that hopeless Randy Stopsign. For the record, I wish to state the we did the barest minimum to defend ourselves and avoid our own demise. I wish Warren all the best and hope that we can have an ale together some time in the future.

The trip was eventful with three members of the TG aboard with the obvious intention of stopping one or all of us reaching Jorn Isles. We tried to warn the three members to leave us alone and they chose to ignore this and pursue a violent solution. I used my training to great effect to create an environment of confusion. We dispatched one somehow with a nasty "necrotizing syphilis". The crew very quickly cast the body to the sea to avoid epidemic.

The other two, I created a world of fear and horror for them [ using Psionic Phobia Field ]. They ended up in the brig for their own safety, however a clever plan meant that one prisoner managed to slay his companion from within the cell (with some help by us of course). The remaining villain was found guilty and executed at the word of the Captain Trondheim. Three - nil to us.

On the trip here we noticed the Gargoyle was on its way to Specularum. This is the sister ship to the Lucky Orc, seized in Specularum. I mind-contacted Militia Captain Osterman and let him know in advance it was on its way in.

We arrived in Jorn City and made our way to the Blond Half-elf inn, halfway up the cliff-side that Jorn City sits on. We met our contact Tim Meikle there immediately. He seemed to know very little and not that interested in our visit. This was puzzling to us.

First certain members of our group went to the harbour-master Enrique to glean information on shipping movements and warehouse usage. Randy managed to do some loathsome, evil, revolting acts with the harbor master. This distracted him enough for Bookem to gather the info we needed. The price paid is that Randy can not walk upright, nor sit down without cringing. I simply don't want to know what happened.

We used Bookem's Church (Funken Wagnall) to gather some very valuable information:

We took the names of the Lama group to our contact, Tim. He had not heard of any of them. Bookem was certain that he was hiding information. Also we noted a wanted poster that had appeared in our Inn that showed Lon, 5000gp reward. It seems that this was not a good place for Lon to be, so he made accommodation arrangements at the Ravishing Tart Inn. At this point we knew that we were stepping on some rather dangerous toes and meddling with some seriously dangerous groups and our group needed a friend.

We learned through the Funkens that Princess Lorna McClintock, the daughter to the High Chancellor Tarby McClintock (ruler of Jorn city), was anti-slavery, anti-lotus and was known to associate with the REALs at the top of the cliff. A meeting was arranged.

Bookem, Randy, Lon, Oprah, Fiona and myself went to the meeting. This went very well. We were finally talking to the correct person. We mentioned the names of the Lama group and Kefters slaves. She identified them as highly trained members of the TG: David Alabaster (TG1), Lesley Lovell (TG3), Liz Byron (TG6)

Simons Slaves (Scabport slavery franchise) are: Harry Galbraith (WG1) and Sambo Thorpe (WG3).

She had not heard of our contact, Tim Meikle. She also confirmed that herrings and sugar are pseudonyms for slaves and lotus respectively.

We obtained some names for some honest Jorn Militia members; Major Rich Wootten, Lieutenant Indira McTavish, Lieutenant Rose Cancer, and 2nd Lt Lewis Calder. The soldiers immediately below these ones are assumed fine too.

We said our goodbyes and will keep in contact.

We discovered that we were being followed and Fiona captured the person. At the moment he is unconscious. My feeling is that we will take care of him and make sure that he is out of circulation till we leave.

Using my psi skills I contacted Captain Osterman and sent images of us arriving OK, meeting up with Tim. And showed that Tim was indeed a thief and not to be trusted. Osterman's return image was to indicate he had no idea who the person pretending to be Tim Meikle was. So now we know.

We are now trying to walk a fine line between:

We suggested to Tim that we were not up to taking on this network of crime and would look at doing other Militia work. So he tasked us to investigate and destroy Warehouse 14 at the docks. It turns out that this is owned by Simons slaves (owned by the wizards). As much as I would like to see trouble befall the mages, we will not be causing too much trouble in this area.

While staking out the dock district, we had lunch at The Sign of the Naughty Girlie. There was a very good lap dancer there. Unfortunately, I forgot to get a receipt to claim for the business lunch and entertainment.

We have also noted that Warehouse 7, owned by the Lama group, has been closed. This warehouse may indeed hold the evidence we desire. The group will decide whether to investigate further. After all, this will be a TG warehouse.

I will forward this report while I can and book in for two days' training upon our return to Specularum in seven to ten days' time. We intend to return on the Shibboleth shortly.

I will be in contact (pun intended).

Stanley Doff.
